GREENWOOD, Ind. – The ever-dominanted UIndy women's tennis team began its hunt for more GLVC women's tennis glory as they began their conference schedule with a big match against the No. 49 ranked Lewis Flyers. Despite the ranking of the Flyers, it was a grounded zone at Center Grove High School as the Hounds took the match 6-1.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
Needing a win after dropping their last three matches, the Hounds saw easy picking in the Flyers who played just five players in singles action as well as only two doubles pairings.
Tyffaine Pais and
Ana Hollweg got the job done to secure the doubles point at court two in a 6-0 sweep.
Â
The Flyers were able to sneak past a win at No. 1 singles, but from there it was all Hounds. Hollweg fought through a tough third set 11-9 to pick up her win. A big moment came as well for the freshman
Jimena De Pablos Hernando who made her GLVC tennis debut. She made it eventful as well as she dominated 6-1, 6-3.
