#1 Seed Again, Men's Tennis Earns Hosting Duties for Midwest Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA Midwest Region will run through Indianapolis with the UIndy men's tennis team being awarded the No. 1 seed and hosting rights for the for first and second rounds of the 2023 NCAA DII Men's Tennis Championship. The Greyhounds earned an automatic bid to this year's bracket after claiming back-to-back GLVC titles, sweep all three matches of the tournament 4-0.

Appearing in their 17th NCAA tournament, the Greyhounds are going to have a familiar foe in the first round in the Findlay Oilers who went 12-10 in the G-MAC this season. The other two squads coming to the 'Nap are both GLVC-powers, with McKendree and Drury squaring off to see who will advance to the second round. The Hounds fared well against both of those squads in conference action, taking down Drury in the GLVC Championship 4-0, and McKendree with a 5-2 beating.

Outside of the Hounds, a GLIAC team once again makes host, this time in Ferris State who enters at 17-4. They host two other GLIAC powers in Grand Valley State and Wayne State while also bringing in Tiffin. The Hounds have gone blow for blow with all three of those teams with the only loss coming from then No. 8-ranked Wayne State in the third meeting between the two Midwest powers.

All matches are set to begin at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, Ind. More details will be announced as they become available. Stay tuned to UIndyAthletics.com for a full preview later this week.
