Hounds Reverse Sweep Panthers to Open GLVC Slate

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The UIndy women's volleyball team opened GLVC play with a comeback win at Drury, winning the final three sets to steal the victory in five. The last time the Hounds secured a reverse sweep on the road at Truman was on Oct. 1, 2022. The win also increased their win streak to 10.

Sophomore Maddie Berger was a star on the court during the five-set contest, leading the team all players with a career-high 18 kills.

INS & OUTS
After bouncing back from a two-set deficit, the Greyhounds focused on defeating the Panthers in the fifth set. Drury started the set with five straight points; however, UIndy responded with five of its own to even the game. Sophomore Ellie Spang racked up three of her five service aces during that span.

The two teams continued to trade points during the set. Senior Sophia Parlanti grabbed four kills in the fifth, while Berger had an impressive block followed by a kill just moments later.

The Greyhounds secured the win with a monumental kill by freshman Madeline Lynch from redshirt-junior Claire Morris on the right side.

The Hounds' energy began in the third set where they prevented a Panthers sweep by winning the third set 25-17.  UIndy held Drury to -.048 during the set while hitting .216. The third set was awarded to the Greyhounds, 25-20.
