TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The
nationally-ranked UIndy swimming & diving teams made their 2025 debut Friday, returning to action in a tri-meet at the Vigo County Aquatic Center in Terre Haute, Ind. UIndy took on Division I-opponents Southern Illinois, Ball State (men only) and host Indiana State (women only). The Greyhounds combined for a 1-3 record on the day, highlighted by the UIndy men comfortably taking down Ball State.

INS & OUTS
The Hounds racked up a total of eight event wins, including seven on the men's side and
Kirabo Namutebi's 50 free win for the women. Both
Cedric Buessing (200 free, 500 free) and
Jeremias Pock (100 breast, 200 breast) notched a pair of victories to lead the way.

Buessing nearly made it three wins, as he touched the wall in the 200 IM just .23 seconds after SIU's Benedek Andor. Â All-American
Brayden Cole, meanwhile, made it a 1-2 finish for the Hounds in the men's 100 breaststroke.

The men swept the butterfly events, with
Mihir Ambre winning the 100 fly and
Elias Noe touching first in the 200.
Mattia Rossi won the men's 100 back, where the Hounds took three of the top four spots.

Celina Schmidt excelled in the women's breaststroke races, earning runner-up status in the 200 and placing third in the 100.

The Greyhounds women's relay teams finished fourth in both the 200 medley and 400 free relays, while the men's placed second in both.

On the board,
Alexis Lumaj led the way with a fourth-place performance on the 3-meter and a fifth-place showing on the 1-meter.
Adam Carr was the lone male diver to compete, placing third and fourth on the 1- and 3-meter, respectively.
