Hounds Fall to McKendree in 2025 Opener

INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy women's basketball team fell to visiting McKendree, 84-75, to start the New Year. The Greyhounds racked up a season-high point total, but an efficient fourth quarter ultimately lifted the Bearcats to the win.

UIndy junior Jaelynne Murray led the team with a season-best 18 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc.

INS & OUTS
After earning a halftime lead for the third time in the last four games, the Greyhounds pushed the margin to 12 points in the third quarter and led by a dozen once again with 8:46 left in the fourth.

McKendree refused to go quietly and clawed their way back with a 13-2 spurt. The Bearcats finally took the lead with 2:55 to go, breaking a 67-67 tie with a 3-ball from Baylie Parks.

The 'Cats kept UIndy at arm's reach to rest of the way, despite a pair of deep triples from Amyrah Sapenter in the final minute.
