Upland, Ind. — The University of Indianapolis men's and women's cross country teams competed in their final race before the GLVC Championships at Friday's Ray Bullock Invitational.
The women's 6k race featured 93 runners, while the men's 8k competition saw 122 competitors. Both squads finished in the top five of the team results, with the women earning a fourth-place finish and the men's squad a third-place finish. The Hounds had three top-ten individuals in Hailey Orosz, Felix Rivet and Conyer Wilson.
Women's Recap
Orosz led the women's squad with a fifth-place finish, clocking a 22:12.3 for the Greyhounds. Next up for the Hounds was Senior Emma Gaston, finishing with a personal new record in the 6k with a time of 23:42.1. Freshman Savannah Danielson finished close behind Gaston, with a 23.5-second PR and a time of 23:43.5. Sophia Stadler was the fourth Greyhound to cross the finish line with a PR of her own and a 23:51.5 finish.
Men's Recap
Leading the way for the Greyhounds was Rivet with a third-place finish for the squad with a time of 25:10.07 in the 8k. Wilson finished next for UIndy, clocking a 25.50.2 with an eighth-place finish. Josue Le Cadre was the third Hound to cross the line, finishing with a one-second PR and a 25:45.7 finish. Ian Pugh earned 15th place with a time of 26:05.8 to round out the top-four finishers for the Hounds.
