Hounds and Miners Battle to Scoreless Draw

ROLLA, MO - UIndy and Missouri S&T fought in a back-and-forth, entertaining scoreless draw on Friday night.

Tonight's scoreless draw is only the third draw since 1987 between the two teams, with two of those third draws coming in the last two seasons. The Hounds and Miners battled to a 0-0 draw in 2023.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After 45 the teams were deadlocked at zero, but neither team was short of creating quality chances. The teams combined for 15 total shots including four on goal that were all saved by Keerti Unnamatla and Cavitt Bruhn.

Each team had one great opportunity to break open the scoring, with the first coming from the Miners' Luke Geisling, whose right footed curling shot was saved by the head of Truls Karlsen in the top right corner to keep the game level at zero.

Joey Longo had UIndy's best first half effort in the 39th minute, but his shot was met by an incredible sliding kick save from Bruhn to deny Longo and the Greyhounds the opening goal of the match.

The second half was much the same as the first half, plenty of chances both ways, with neither team able to find the back of the net. Alex Ziermann, Demetris Giannakopoulos, Jona Hogle, and Kabiru Gafar all had shots on goal for UIndy in the second half that were saved by Bruhn to keep the score level.

Chaos ensued in the final minute two minutes, as the Greyhounds defended for their lives, as they stopped or blocked five Miners shots, including three off the goal line, similar to Karlsen's save in the first half.

But even amongst the chaos, the Hounds survived defensively and created one last half chance on the other end from Hogle that was saved, ending Friday night's game in a scoreless draw.

INSIDE THE BOX
- Eight of the 10 starters for UIndy tonight recorded at least one shot.
- Hogle tied his career high in shots tonight with four, matching his total from 2023 against Upper Iowa.
- Gafar compiled at least four shots in a game for the fifth time in his career, and the second time this season.
- Victor Mayrink recorded a shot for the second straight game, bringing his tally to three on the 2025 season.

UP NEXT
