Ayllon Prado, Gaggiofatto Wrap up Competitive Field at ITA Cup

ROME, Ga. – Over the weekend, Tadeo Gaggiofatto and Asier Ayllon Prado wrapped up competing in the singles draw of the prestigious ITA Cup. The pair each collected one win in the back draw, and both finished the weekend with respective 1-2 records. 

Gaggiofatto started the tournament with a first round matchup against Midwestern State's Germano Setti, where he fell 6-1, 6-2. 

Ayllon Prado met Kelly Giese of Lubbock Christian in the first round, dropping a well-contested  first set tiebreak 7-4, and the second set 6-2. 

In the first backdraw match, Gaggiofatto battled with Lubbock Christian's Pablo Segura to three sets, after falling 6-3 in the first and winning the second 6-0. Segura found a break late and won the third set 6-4. 

Washburn's Pavlos Parson met Ayllon Prado in the first round of the backdraw, where the first set went to a breaker, with Parson getting the upper hand 7-4. Parson went on to win the match with a 6-2 result in the second. 

Day two of the backdraw paired Gaggiofatto with Cameron's Noe Milliard, where he outpaced Milliard 7-5 in the first, and kept his foot on the gas in the second for a 6-3 victory. 

Ayllon Prado met Leon Grassnickel from Edinboro in the second backdraw match, taking the match with ease in straight sets. (6-3, 6-1)
