Greyhounds Fall to #24 McKendree on Friday Night

LEBANNON, Ill. – The UIndy women's soccer team dropped its third straight game on Friday night, in a 5-1 loss to No. 24 McKendree. This is the first ranked opponent the Greyhounds have seen this season.

The Bearcats extended its unbeaten streak against the Greyhounds to five, with UIndy's last win coming in 2021 in the NCAA Tournament.

HOW IT HAPPENED
McKendree dominated the first half, doing exactly what they've done to other GLVC teams this season, scoring plenty of goals. Before tonight's match the Bearcats ranked second in the GLVC with 31 goals scored. They added to their season total with four more in the first half, to take a 4-0 lead at halftime.

McKendree grabbed one more in the second half to push its lead out to 5-0 after 64 minutes on an Aubrey Andrews low driven shot that beat UIndy's Maria White

The Hounds struggled to generate many chances in this one, only recording one shot in the first half, and three in the second half, before netting a goal in the 85th minute. Izzie Wallace was the recipient of the lone goal for the Greyhounds tonight, on a shot that rifled past McKendree's Peyton Baker.

Aubrey Crawford, Frannie Poulos and Rochelle Maxson all recorded the remaining second half shots for UIndy.

INSIDE THE BOX
- Wallace added her team leading fourth goal of the season for the Greyhounds.
- Poulos' shot tonight was her fourth of the year, and her second on frame.
- White made her second straight appearance for the Greyhounds, and tallied five saves.
- Crawford's shot tonight was the first of her young UIndy career.
