Williamsville, Ill.—The UIndy Volleyball team defeated Maryville 3-1 in Friday's GLVC Tournament Quarterfinal. 

Freshman Carly Fonda recorded 54 assists, setting her over the 1,000 assists milestone, making her the 15th Greyhound to surpass 1,000 assists and only the second UIndy rookie to achieve the milestone. Senior Paige Parlanti a double-double with game highs in kills (21) and digs (24). Makenzie Pflederer recorded a season high 16 kills, the second highest in the match. Macy Bruton was only one dig behind Parlanti scooping up 23 for the Greyhounds. 

The Hounds battled to take their first lead of the night late in the second set with a 4-0 run off a Fonda kill and a set of attacking errors from the Saints. Parlanti capitalized the run with a kill of a Fonda assist to give swing the score in UIndy's favor 20-19. Maddie Lynch kept the momentum rolling for the Hounds with three consecutive kills to give UIndy a three-point lead. The second set was sealed for the Hounds courtesy of a block by Kaitlin Fasbender and Lynch to tie the match at a set apiece. 

The squads traded points much of the third set, but a 5-1 run by the Saints gave them a 19-14 lead. The Hounds refused to go away and strung together a 8-1 run to take set three and a 2-1 lead. 

The Saints hopped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the fourth and final set off of three errors from the UIndy squad. A Parlanti kill squared up the score 14-14, and another Parlanti kill put the Hounds their first lead in the fourth set and swung momentum in favor of the Hounds. UIndy scored nine of the match's final 12 points, and a kill by Fasbender secured the set 25-20, advancing the Hounds to the GLVC Tournament Semifinal.
