INDIANAPOLIS – After a weekend in Warrensburg, MO, four Greyhounds still claim spots in the top 20 of their respective weight classes in this week's The Open Mat rankings.
Nathan Smith (125) heads into the holiday weekend as the top ranked Greyhound at 13th, one spot higher than his 14th placed ranking last week.
Right behind Smith in the 165 and 285 weight classes are Logan Farnell and Cale Gray who both come in at No. 14. Farnell continued his strong start to the 2025-26 season, earning a fifth place finish at the Kaufman Brand Open, and a win over No. 5 Nate Barnett from Ashland.
Gray hasn't competed since the team's appearance at the Findlay Open, but remains a force in the 285 weight class. In Gray's previous outing he notched five wins and a sixth place finish.
The final Hound in this week's rankings is Gavin Garcia (149), who claimed a victory in his first event of the season at the Pioneer Open, jumped up one spot to No. 18 this week.
UIndy will have the holiday weekend off before two straight weekends back in Indiana, first starting with Indiana Little State in Manchester, Ind on Dec. 6, and then heading back home for the annual Midwest Classic on Dec. 13-14.
