CRAWFORDSVILLE, IN – The No. 18-ranked UIndy wrestling team competed in the eight team open event hosted by Wabash College on Saturday.
The Greyhounds sent 13 wrestlers to this year's edition of the invitational, with seven of those 13 Hounds placing in their respective weight classes.
Armen Koltookian (197) earned UIndy's highest place finish, finishing second, while Brayden Deem (149) and Chris Bullock (133) both finished one spot behind Koltookian with two third place finishes. Noah Clouser (174) and Zach Haughton (141) finished fourth in their respective weight classes, while Harrison May (141) and Elijah Hinshaw (285) both finished in fifth place.

Overall it was a strong outing for the Hounds, led by Koltookian who earned UIndy's highest placed finish, and Clouser who earned the most individual team points, 18.5, but was listed in the event as an unattached wrestler.
Koltookian went 2-1 on the day, earning himself a spot in the championship match against Wabash's Charles Baczek. En route to his championship appearance, he earned two pin victories over Trine's Xander Lachance and Ohio Wesleyan's Geoffry Kaminsky. These are Koltookian's first two career pin victories in his short time with the program.
In the 174 weight class, Clouser went 4-2 on the day, picking up three pins as he made his way to a fourth place finish.
He won his first match of the day over Trine's Trey Tobias with a first period pin, then dropping his next match against Ohio Wesleyan's Tyler Bodovetz. After dropping the third round match in the championship bracket, he made quick work on his next two opponents in the consolation bracket, before dropping a closely contested 4-1 decision in the third place match.
Both Deem (149) and Bullock (133) dominated in their third place matches, outscoring their opponents a combined 36-5, with Deem winning 19-4, and Bullock winning 14-1. Both of these third place finishes mark career high finishes in their time as Greyhounds.
Haughton and May both went 2-1 in the 141 weight class, earning fourth and fifth place finishes for the Hounds.
Haughton dominated in his first match against Trine's Tyler Beach, 19-4, before falling in his semifinal match to eventual 141 champion, Lucas Peters from Indiana. While May dropped his first match of the day he then outscored his final two opponents 41-10, and earning a fifth-placed finish.
Hinshaw was the final Hound who placed, securing a fifth-placed finish in the 285 weight class. He picked up two pins, a major decision and a decision win on the day in his five matches.

UIndy will be back at it next weekend at the Greyhound Duals on Feb. 8, where the Hounds will look to repeat their undefeated 2024 performance.
