The Lions jumped ahead of the Greyhounds early after winning the doubles point. The duo of Samuel Dickson and Alex Van Lumich bested
Matthieu Derache and
David Simeonov by a score of 6-3 in #1 doubles. Purdue Northwest clinched it when Francisco Lanuesse and Joao Martins took down
Asier Ayllon Prado and
Tadeo Gaggiofatto 6-2.
Simeonov's 6-4 6-3 win over Van Lumich leveled the score at one a piece.
Manu Lanteri gutted out a third-set tiebreaker win over Dickson in #2 singles to give the Hounds a lead. Derache also clinched a third-set win over Dani Chicano Melero, with a score of 7-6, 5-7, 6-2 to give UIndy a 3-1 lead.
Ayllon Prado's dominant showing against Martins sealed the deal for the Greyhounds, only conceding one game in the 6-0 6-1 victory. Gaggiofatto finished Daniel Sroka 6-1 6-3, and
Lorenzo Di Cursi fell to Adhirit Awal 6-2 6-7 4-6.
