WESTFIELD, IN – The No. 5 UIndy baseball team fell 20-7 to Hillsdale in the final game of the team's four game weekend series. The two teams split the four games, with UIndy winning the first two, and the Chargers winning the final two games.Â
Cole Hampton, Easton Good and Ian Kennedy were the only three Greyhound players to bring in runs for UIndy.
Monday's game was moved to Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield, IN today due to poor weather conditions at Mt. Dew Park in Marion, Ill.Â
GAME 4 | UIndy 7, Hillsdale 20
The Chargers carried over their offensive firepower from Sunday's second game, by jumping out in front 5-1 after the first inning.Â
Good connected on a triple to left center that brought in Tré Hondras, and also himself, after an error from Hillsdale's Kaden Nowak gave Good the free pass to home. Kennedy then got the Hounds out in front 6-5 just five batters later, with a three run home run to deep left center in the third.
But the Hounds offense would stall after a fourth inning sacrifice fly from Good to put UIndy ahead 7-5. The Hounds only combined for three hits the rest of the game, and couldn't find answers for the Chargers' hitting, as they were outscored 15-0 the remainder of the game.
The Chargers capped off their nine run eighth inning by stretching the lead to 13, and closing the game out with a 20-7 win.
