INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis dropped their match against No. 29 Catawba college 4-0 the morning of March 11, 2025. UIndy now sits at 4-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Greyhounds ran out of gas in the doubles point, winning just one of the three matches. Linya Chen and Suryanshi picked up the lone win in #3 singles, defeating Tina Gomes and Nina Dundovic 6-4.
Sofia Cardenas and Tyffaine Pais fell 6-2 in #1 doubles to Ami Miya and Lili Drukerova, while Jimena De Pablos Hernando and Silvia Zappoli were edged-out in #2 doubles by Sofia Antolini and Rin Igarashi 7-5.
In singles, Catawba extended their lead to 2-0 after Anna Wise took down Zappoli 6-1 6-0 in #2 singles. The clinched the match with wins in #5 and #6 singles, as Igarashi bested Andrea Garcia 6-2 6-2, and Vaishnavi Venkatesh defeated Cardenas 6-1 6-3.
