Greenville, TN - To close their time in Tennessee, the University of Indianapolis men's tennis team defeated Tusculum University 4-1. The Greyhounds have won five straight matches and improve to 9-3.
INS AND OUTS
UIndy dropped the doubles point 2-1, with the lone win coming in #1 doubles after
Matthieu Derache and
Tadeo Gaggiofatto bested Rens Verhaar and Will Gee 6-3.
David Simeonov and
Asier Ayllon Prado were narrowly beaten in a tiebreak by Anton Krondell and Miles Ray in #2 doubles.
Manu Lanteri and
Lorenzo Di Cursi fell 6-3 in #3 singles to Angelos Avgeris and Nathan Matsugama.
The Hounds quickly rattled off two straight-set wins in singles, taking a 2-1 lead.Ayllon Prado made quick work of Gee in a 6-1 6-2 win in #3 singles, and Lanteri topped Matsugama 6-4 6-0 in #2 singles.
Simeonov's thrilling 7-6 7-6 10-7 win over Krondell on the #1 singles court cushioned the UIndy lead to 3-1. Gaggiofatto closed out the afternoon in routing Kai Poelchau in #5 singles, winning 6-3 6-1.
