Bladon, Greyhounds Sink #16 GVSU on Sunday

ALLENDALE, MI – The No. 9-ranked UIndy women's lacrosse team earned its third top-25 win of the season on Sunday after defeating Grand Valley on the road, 11-8.

Similarly to Friday night's game, it was all Olivia Bladon, who racked up a season high in points with seven, which included six goals and an assist. Not only is this a season high in points, but a career high in goals as well, breaking her previous record of seven, which she has done seven times before.

Both teams also put together strong defensive performances, as they combined for 32 total turnovers.

INS & OUTS
UIndy put together an offensive masterclass, with 11 of their 12 shots on goal resulting in a goal. The Hounds scored six of the game's first eight goals, led by Bladon's three goals, while Ally Savino and Malaena Michielin each scored from a free position, and Ella Fornek in a man up situation.

The third quarter was back-and-forth, with each team trading three goals a piece. Bladon scored all three goals for the Hounds in the third quarter, including a goal with 53 seconds left in the third to push UIndy's lead to 9-4.

The Hounds added two more goals early in the fourth quarter thanks to Sage Da Silva, and Emily Ghazal who scored in a man down situation after Jenna Hirvonen received a yellow card.

Grand Valley attempted to put together a late game push, and notched three goals late in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as UIndy wrapped up their 11-8 ranked victory over the Lakers with a late game clear attempt.
