GREENWOOD, Ind. – Two UIndy basketball student-athletes were announced as Academic All-District recipients on Tuesday, per College Sports Communicators.
Â
One student-athlete from each Greyhound program earned recognition, including
Patricia Chikamba (women) and
Zac Szul (men). Both are first-time honorees.
Â
Chikamba recently wrapped up her junior campaign, earning All-GLVC Second Team honors. The Carmel, Ind., native led the team in scoring (16.6) and rebounding (7.6) this past winter, while recording 44 steals and 13 blocks. Chikamba, the 2024 GLVC Sportsmanship nominee, is on pace for her second Academic All-GLVC nod this summer.
Â
Because of her accomplishments on the hardwood and in the classroom, Chikamba is eligible for Academic All-America honors next month.
Â
Szul played in all 28 games this season, averaging 7.4 points and 3.0 rebounds per contest. The fifth-year senior drew eight starts in his second season with the Hounds, averaging nearly 24 minutes per game. The Waterville, Ohio, native earned Academic All-GLVC distinction last June.
