UIndy Bounces Back at Quincy

QUINCY, Ill. – The UIndy men's lacrosse team bounced back into the win column on Saturday, earning a 15-6 road win at GLVC foe Quincy.
 
The Greyhounds dominated on the faceoff, led by Nat Jun's 12-for-13 effort at the dot. TJ Reddington also contributed seven faceoff wins against eight tries.
 
UIndy now leads the all-time series, 5-0, with a win in each of the past five seasons.
 
INS & OUTS
The Crimson & Grey came out firing, scoring eight goals in the first quarter by six different players. Matt Pereira opened the scoring two-and-a-half minutes into the contest, with Connor Magin adding his own just 33 seconds later. Underclassmen Jackson Foord and Dylan Silva closed the frame with goals, the latter of which came with just two seconds left.
 
Tanner Hahm took advantage of one of Quincy's failed clears, capitalizing on Tyler Bernarduci's CTO+GB effort on the defensive end midway through the second quarter.
 
The second half featured a more competitive affair, as Caleb Christian ended the 15-minute period with scoring for the visitors. Triston Schaffer was credited with his second assist of the afternoon, finishing with four points on the day.  
 
UIndy scored the game's final three goals; Nathan Lam joined Pereira as Hounds with Hat Tricksâ„¢, scoring with 1:33 left in the game. Kyle Rizzo then entered the scoring column 27 seconds after Lam, with both goals assisted by Tanner Hahm.
 
INSIDE THE BOX
- Hahm dished out a game-high three assists, while Ryan Carver recorded two.
- UIndy netminder AJ Preachuk finished with seven saves, six of which came in the second half.
- The Hounds fired 55 shots compared to the Hawks' 24, including a 33-13 advantage in shots on goal.
- Seven Greyhounds were credited with a caused turnover, including rookie defensemen Mitchell Carik and Alec Score.
 
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds return home to Key Stadium next weekend, hosting Maryville for "Back the Pack" to close the regular season.
