INDIANAPOLIS – With their final home regular-season match, the University of Indianapolis women's tennis team bested Maryville 6-1. The win extends their win streak to five, and improves their record to 9-5.
This afternoon also recognized the program's seniors, where Tyffaine Pais, Milan Jankovic, and Nastassia Chamoun were honored for their achievements and commitment to UIndy tennis.
Pais is currently ranked No. 25 in singles in DII tennis, and is a two-time ITA Midwest Region champion.
Jankovic and Chamoun have been paramount to the program's success over the past two years. Chamoun was the 2024 ITA Assistant Coach of the Year, who collaborated with Jankovic to help the men's team reach a rank of #1 in the nation.
INS AND OUTS
The Greyhounds struck first in the doubles point, conceding just three total games across #1 and #2 doubles.
Pais and Sofia Cardenas stumped Grace Brown and Luana Luersen with a 6-0 bagel, while Jimena De Pablos Hernando and Silvia Zappoli topped Isbella Alvarez and Nazli Saka 6-3.
In singles competition, the Hounds picked up straight-set wins at the #1, #2, and #3 slots, dropping just five of 36 possible games.
Suryanshi took home the first win at #2 singles, with a 6-0 6-1 win over Saka. De Pablos Hernando reciprocated that score in #3 singles, in her match against Brown.
Pais completed the sweep with a 6-2 6-1 victory on court #1 against Victoria Lisson.

The Hounds will travel to Springfield, Ill, for a conference duel against Illinois Springfield next Friday, April 25.
