INDIANAPOLIS – In the last contest before conference play, the #16 University of Indianapolis men's tennis team defeated Goshen College 5-2. The Greyhounds move to 12-3 on the year.
INS AND OUTS
UIndy breezed through doubles competition, picking up all three wins. The tandems of Asier Ayllon Prado/Tadeo Gaggiofatto and Manu Lanteri/Lorenzo Di Cursi at #2 and #3 singles each picked up 6-2 wins.
Matthieu Derache and David Simeonov topped Fillipo Gallo and Matija Margetic 7-5 at #1 doubles to complete the sweep.
In singles, Gaggiofatto got the Hounds on the board with a 6-0 6-0 bagel over Joaquin Luque at #3 singles. Lanteri extended the lead up to 3-0 with a 6-1 6-1 win over Gallo at #1 singles.
Ayllon Prado got the best of Margetic at #2 singles, securing a 6-3 6-2 victory. Nico Balzola Izquierdo rounded out the afternoon with a 6-4 6-3 win over Mario Gomez at #4 singles.
