Women's Tennis Gearing Up For Midwest Regional Run

ALLENDALE, MI – The time for the DII NCAA Women's Tennis Championship has come, with the University of Indianapolis women's tennis team preparing to open competition as the #7 seed against No. 24 Grand Valley.

Before the bracket was set, the Hounds fell just short of the GLVC Championship, falling to Rockhurst 4-3. Before the loss, UIndy had strung together an eight match win streak.

Two Greyhounds looking to extend individual win streaks are Suryanshi and Jimena De Pablos Hernando. Suryanshi remains undefeated in singles competition, holding a perfect 10-0 clip. De Pablos Hernando is currently on an eight match win streak, with a 12-1 singles mark on the season. Joining the aforementioned players in the singles lineup is Tyffaine Pais, a two-time ITA Regional Champion that is currently ranked No. 37 in singles play.

Grand Valley will serve as hosts for the Regional site, earning the #2 overall seed in the Midwest after achieving a record of 15-4 in the regular season. The Lakers will host alongside Wayne State, who received the #1 overall seed in the Midwest Region.

The other teams vying for a spot to Nationals are #3 Findlay and #6 Rockhurst, who will play at 3 PM.
