TEMPE, Ariz – Sophomores David Simeonov and Tadeo Gaggiofatto of the UIndy men's tennis team were recipients of two 2025 ITA Division II Men's Regional Awards, per a release Monday, May 19.
Simeonov was named the Most Improved Player of the Year in the Midwest Region after a sizable step-up from his Freshman year campaign. Last year, Simeonov held a 12-11 record across the singles singles lineup last year, with a 16-11 mark playing #3 doubles. This season, the Sophomore boasts a 13-5 record in singles, holding down the #1 position on the ladder.
Gaggiofatto earned the ITA's Player to Watch award after bolstering the Greyhound singles lineup. The Cowley College transfer leads UIndy in total singles wins this year with 20, touting a 20-1 clip. The Sophomore has won his last 14 singles matches, with the lone blemish to his record coming in a third set tiebreak on Feb. 16. He also holds a 14-8 record across the doubles lineup.
