EAST PEORIA, Ill. – The sixth-seeded UIndy softball team on Friday earned a spot in the GLVC championship game, taking down top-seeded Drury, 2-1. The Greyhounds will face No. 5-seed Illinois Springfield for the title, witrh first pitch scheduled for Saturday at 11 a.m. Eastern, 10 a.m. local.

The designated visiting team, UIndy came out swinging in the top of the first, with one- and two-hole hitters
Brooklyn Willis and
Cara Cooper starting the game with base hits. Senior
Jocelyn Calvin tacked on a third single, scoring Willis and prompting a quick hook for Drury starter and All-GLVC first teamer AJ Agers.
In nearly identical fashion, the top of the lineup once again produced a run in the third inning to put the Hounds up, 2-0. Willis and Cooper again managed back-to-back singles, while Calvin plated Willis with another RBI knock. The senior's second hit of the day gave her 200 for her career, as she became the 15th player in UIndy history to reach the milestone.

Cheyenne Eads crafted her third complete-game win in as many days. A single tally in the fourth is all the Panthers could muster versus the
GLVC Freshman of the Year, as Eads managed to pitch her way out of what little trouble she got into. She finished with seven strikeouts and zero walks on the day while lowering her ERA on the week to 1.33.
The trio of Willis, Cooper and Calvin combined for go 7-for-10 at the plate.
Josie Jager and
Shelby Cook had a single apiece, while Cooper and
Sydney Oliver were each credited with a sacrifice.
