Box Score SPRINGFIELD, ILL. – For the third consecutive year, the No. 17 University of Indianapolis men's tennis team captured the GLVC Tournament Championship, in a 4-0 sweep against No. 43 Rockhurst University.
This is the 14th GLVC title for the UIndy men's tennis program, and the seventh title under Head Coach Malik Tabet's tenure. Along with the title, Tabet received GLVC Coach of the Year honors for the third consecutive year.
The Greyhounds have been on a hot streak for the past two months, picking up their 15th straight win, and their sixth win against a ranked opponent. The win advances their record to 19-3 on the season.
Additionally, Asier Ayllon Prado, Lorenzo Di Cursi, and Tadeo Gaggiofatto were named to the 2025 GLVC All-Tournament Team. The Greyhounds had the most players recognized to this year's All-Tournament team.
INS AND OUTS
The Greyhounds took home the first point of the match in doubles competition, with resounding wins at #2 and #3 doubles.
Ayllon Prado and Gaggiofatto drew first blood on court #2, registering a 6-2 win over Creed Skinner and Seymon Tsyrenov.
Manu Lanteri and Di Cursi took home the doubles point with a 6-2 win at #3 doubles, making quick work of Alex Tikhonov and Arnav Gannavaram.
In singles, Lanteri was first to add to the sweeping effort, taking home a 6-2 6-2 victory over Skinner in #3 singles.
Di Cursi extended the UIndy lead to 3-0 with a commanding victory at #6 singles, overpowering Dylan Rainwater 6-3 6-1.
Gaggiofatto completed the sweep with his straight-set win over Diego Schtulmann at #5 singles, dominating the first set 6-1, and outlasting a second set tiebreak 7-6.
