Women's Tennis Claims At-Large Berth To NCAA Preliminary Round

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Following a narrow defeat in the GLVC Tournament Championship match, the University of Indianapolis women's tennis team was named the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region, earning the right to compete for another Regional title. 

UIndy will play No. 2 Grand Valley State in the opening round of competition, beginning Monday, May 12 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Laker's 15-3 record against DII opponents earned GVSU the right to host one leg of the NCAA Regional. 

The other two schools coming to compete in Grand Rapids are No. 3 Findlay and GLVC-Foe Rockhurst, who enters the field as the No. 6 seed. 

On the other side of the Midwest Regional bracket, top-seeded Wayne State will host the No. 4 Tiffin and No. 5 Ferris State. Both single-elimination Midwest Regional site will compete through Tuesday for a chance to enter the 16-team field in the NCAA DII Women's Tennis Championship, hosted in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
