INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy men's and women's cross country teams kick off their 2025 slate at Indiana Wesleyan on Friday evening. The Hounds travel to Marion, Ind., for the Twilight Invitational hosted at IWU's cross country course.
"We are excited to kick off the season at IWU on Friday," Director of Cross Country/Track and Field, Brad Robinson, said. "The goal for our new runners is to be patient and work together during their first 6K race, Robinson said regarding the women's squad. As for the men's team, Robinson said, "Our pack is deeper this year and we are challenging the men to have 5 guys faster than our 3rd runner in last year's race."
On the women's side, the Hounds will see two returners in 2023 All-GLVC honoree Hailey Orosz and senior Emma Gaston, who was the squad's top competitor for the 2024 season.
The men's squad returns 11 runners, including 2024 All-Region Honoree Felix Rivet. Rivet was the Hounds' top finisher at the 2024 GLVC Cross Country Championships with a second-place finish and set a new Greyhound record (24:06.02) in the 8k.
