TEMPE, Ariz. – Four members of the UIndy men's tennis team were recognized in the latest ITA rankings. Asier Ayllon Prado and Tadeo Gaggiofatto both appeared in the National singles rankings, while Jovan Matovic and Matthieu Derache join them in the Regional ranks.
Ayllon Prado and Gaggiofatto neighbor one another at No. 20 and No. 21 in the National singles ladder, coming off the heels of strong performances in the ITA Cup and ITA Midwest Championship. Ayllon Prado and Gaggiofatto hone the crown of No. 1 and No. 2 in the Midwest, following Ayllon Prado's 6-3, 6-7 (7-5), 6-1 win over Gaggofatto in the Regional singles final.
Derache emerged in the Regional singles class, earning a rank of No. 18. Derache and Gaggiofatto were placed in the Regional doubles rankings, receiving the No. 10 spot.
Matovic and Ayllon Prado were ranked No. 5 in the Regional doubles poll, in large part due to their trip to the Regional doubles semifinal.
The Greyhounds will see their first action of the new year on Jan 19, for a home exhibition match against Marian at 9:30 AM.
