Kornijczuk, Thiery-James Tabbed Third in Midwest Doubles Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. –  Two members of the UIndy women's tennis team were featured in the ITA's latest batch of Regional Rankings.

The team of Magda Kornijczuk and Maelys Thiery-James were listed third in the Midwest Region's doubles rankings, following a run to the semifinals of the Midwest Regional Championship in September.

Kornijczuk and Thiery-James won three matches to reach the semi-final, dethroning the second-seeded Eleanor Coleman and Zuzanna Szmyd of Rockhurst, and seventh-seeded Kalomoira Ralli and Natasha Sengphrachanh of Grand Valley.

Kornijczuk was also ranked seventeenth in the Midwest's singles rankings, after a run to the Round of 16 in the Regional Championship. The graduate transfer defeated the draw's No. 4 seed, Findlay's Anamarija Kovacevic, in a heated third-set tiebreak in the round of 32.

The Hounds kick off the 2026 season in an exhibition against Marian, with the match set for 12 PM on Jan 19.
