After Lewis notched the first two points of the match, UIndy responded with an 8-0 scoring run starting with a
Kelsey McKenney kill and continuing behind

Makenzie Pflederer,
Maddie Lynch and
Carly Fonda to move ahead 8-2. The Greyhounds kept the set from tightening through the middle stages, getting kills from
Maddie Berger,
Allison Jansen, McKenney and Lynch while holding leads of 18-10 and 20-10. After Lewis reached 22-14, Berger's kill started the final three-point close, and the Greyhounds finished the set 25-14 on back-to-back Lewis errors.
Lewis used a five-point run to move ahead 10-5 in the second set, but the Greyhounds chipped back within 11-9 behind a Lynch-McKenney block, another block from McKenney and Lynch, and a Lynch kill. Lewis rebuilt its lead to 15-10 and later held a 21-18 advantage before Lynch put down three straight Greyhounds points to tie the set at 21-21. After Lewis moved back in front 22-21, the Greyhounds scored the next three points, with a Jansen-Lynch block giving the Greyhounds set point at 24-22. Lewis answered to tie it at 24-24, but Jansen's kill put the Greyhounds back ahead and Berger finished the set from
Macy Bruton for a 26-24 win.
Makenzie Pflederer's service turn helped the Greyhounds move from 4-2 to 9-2 in the third set, with Jansen and
Grace Portwood putting down kills during the run. After Lewis worked back from 16-5 to 16-9, Fonda stopped the run with a kill, and the Greyhounds rebuilt the margin behind a Lynch kill, a Pflederer kill and a Berger finish to reach 23-10. Lewis scored the next four points, but Pflederer answered with a kill for set point and followed with a service ace to close the Greyhounds' 25-14 win.
