INDIANAPOLIS – The UIndy football team authored an historic performance Saturday, handing Quincy a 73-27 Halloween defeat. The Greyhounds' point total represented the third-highest in the team's 89-season history.

INS & OUTS
The Hounds absolutely lit up the scoreboard in the first half, especially in the first half. UIndy found the end zone on each of its first five possessions on the way to 45 points in the opening 30 minutes. Junior running back
Garrett Sherrell was particularly effective early, racking up 183 rushing yards and three touchdowns before intermission.
Â
The Greyhounds kept the gas pedal down after the break, scoring four straight touchdowns to start the second half. The run was capped by a highlight catch late in the third quarter when senior captain Giovanni Laurent made a jaw-dropping grab in the end zone, using the defender's body to help haul it in.

Â
When the dust settled, the Greyhounds had racked up 332 rushing yards and nearly 600 total yards in all. Sherrell and Patterson combined for a whopping 317 rushing yards and five rushing TDs. Sherrell notched his first career 200-rushing-yard game and the first by a Hound since 2022, while Patterson became just the fourth Greyhound quarterback since at least 1983 to hit triple digits in rushing yards.
