SPRINGFIELD Mo.,— The University of Indianapolis men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Springfield, Missouri, to compete in the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 7, hosted by Drury University at Allison Sports Town.Â
The day will start with the 48th annual men's 8k run at 10 a.m. ET followed by the women's 43rd annual 6k run at 11 a.m. ET.
Junior Elise Peckinpaugh is the Hound to watch on the women's side. The Fort Wayne native is coming off her career best in the 6k after taking second place in the Wayne State Warrior Challenge with a 21:32.1. For the UIndy men, juniors Conyer Wilson and Ali Benzem lead the pack going into Saturday's championships. Wilson clocked the fastest 8k for the Crimson & Grey this season with a 25:21.29 at the Louisville Classic on Oct 3. Benzem was the top Hound in the team's last outing, however, just 20 seconds behind Wilson's season best, with a 25:41.2.Â
In last year's GLVC Championships, the Greyhounds had four All-GLVC honorees: Felix Rivet, Hailey Orosz, Josue Le Cadre, and Wilson, the lone returner to this year's race. The men's squad finished fourth, while the women's placed seventh.
