INDIANAPOLIS – In the first round of the 2026 ITA National Team Indoor Championship, the No. 17-ranked UIndy men's tennis team fell to No. 1 Barry University 4-1.

After dropping the heated doubles point, the Greyhounds fell on positions #2, #4, and #3, while Asier Ayllon Prado stole the lone win at #1 singles.

INS AND OUTS
The Buccaneers got on the board first in doubles play, thanks to Yan Kodjoed and Antonin Chapuis's 6-0 win over Lorenzo Di Cursi and Jovan Matovic at #3 doubles.

On court #1, Ayllon Prado and Matthieu Derache rode the momentum of an early break to defeat Riccardo Trione and Simone Cavalleri 6-2.

The opening point would be decided at #2 doubles, where Thomas Machado and Adam Lynch overtook Zaid Shelbaya and Tadeo Gaggiofatto 6-4.

In singles action, the Bucs took a 2-0 lead when Kodjoed, the No. 1 player in DII singles, bested Gaggiofatto 6-2, 6-1 at #2 singles.

Machado further cushioned Barry's lead with a 6-4, 6-4 nail-biting victory over Jovan Matovic on court #4.

The match ended at #3 singles, where Lynch overcame a one-set deficit to take down Derache 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
