INDIANAPOLIS – In their first match in six days, the UIndy women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Findlay. The Greyhounds move to 2-2 on the year, while the Oilers improve to 4-1.
Findlay took the opening doubles point with wins and positions #1 and #2, then went on to take five of six singles matches.

Findlay struck oil first at #1 doubles, as Anamarija Kovacevic Audrey Ouellet bested Maelys Thiery-James and Magda Kornijczuk 6-2. Ivanova Lucero and Valentina Salek followed suit with a 6-2 win over Silvia Zappoli and Liza Simak at #2 doubles. The lone win in doubles play for UIndy was at #3 doubles, where Jimena De Pablos Hernando and Sofia Cardenas took a 6-3 victory over Maria Batinic and Ivana Gombitova.
Salek entered the first singles result for the Oilers, besting Kornijczuk 6-1, 6-1 at #3 singles. Batinic, the No. 32 singles player in DII echoed that performance with a 6-3, 6-3 win at #2 singles. In her singles debut, Simak fell to Ouellet 6-4, 6-4.
Thiery-James was in a heated battle at #1 singles with Kovacevic, who took the first set 6-3. Thiery-James extended the match with a late break in the second set, winning 6-4 to force the ultimate set. Kovacevic ultimately prevailed 6-3 in the final set.
UIndy found momentum at #6 singles, where Cardenas defeated Gombitova 6-2, 6-2 to get the Hounds on the board. The match finished with Lucero's 6-3, 6-1 win at #5 singles.

The Hounds will prepare for the 2026 Women's ITA National Team Indoor Championship, where they will face No. 1 Barry University in the first round on Friday, Feb. 20.
