The University of Indianapolis men's basketball team looks to finish the regular season on a high note with two GLVC contests, starting with a trip to Kirksville, Mo., to face the Truman State Bulldogs. The Hounds will then return to The Nic for the final time this season to face Quincy on Saturday for Senior Day.
Carmelo Harris leads the Greyhounds in scoring, averaging 17.7 ppg against conference opponents. Shaun Arnold is a powerhorse for UIndy's defense. The junior currently sits atop the conference in steals (71) and steals per game, averaging 2.73 per contest, ranking sixth and seventh nationally in the statistical categories.
The Greyhounds will celebrate Pierce Thomas, Noah Kon and Harris before tip-off of their matchup with the Hawks on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Truman
The Bulldogs come into Thursday night's contest seeing victories in three of their last four games, defeating Missouri S&T (80-77), UMSL (79-75) and Maryville (93-83), but fell to the Lincoln Blue Tigers 93-79 on senior day in Pershing Arena.
Senior guard Julian Brow leads Truman State in scoring, averaging 14.8 points per game against GLVC opponents, with four other Bulldogs averaging double-digit scoring. Emmanuel Byrd leads his team in rebounds, averaging 9.3 boards per game.
Quincy
The Hawks are looking to return to the win column after falling 56-86 to McKendree last Saturday, and will face Lewis in Pepsi Arena before making the trek eastward to Indianapolis.
The Hawks have three averaging around 14 points per game in Tiernan Stynes with 14.7 ppg, Ethan Bolton averaging14.4 ppg and Carmen Kincade giving Quincy 14.0 points per game in conference play. Bolton leads the squad in the rebounding category, grabbing an average of 6.9 per conference contest.
