The game opened with an administrative technical foul by the Greyhounds, allowing Quincy's Tiernan Stynes to score the first point on a free throw, which would prove to be crucial later on.
The Greyhounds quickly responded with
Tyler Parrish hitting a 3-pointer, assisted by
Carmelo Harris, at 19:39. Parrish continued to drive the home team's offense with a layup, contributing to an early 7-1 lead. As the half progressed, Quincy narrowed the gap, with Owen Duff's 3-pointer at 17:58 and a subsequent 3-pointer from Camren Kincaid at 15:26. The teams traded leads throughout the half, with Ethan Bolton's layup at 1:39, assisted by Kincaid, giving Quincy a slight edge. The first half ended with Quincy leading 44-42 after two free throws by Jakeb Wallingford with 42 seconds remaining.
The Greyhounds and Quincy battled through a closely contested second half, with both teams exchanging leads.
Carmelo Harris hit a three-pointer at the 19:14 mark, giving the home team a brief advantage. Quincy responded with a 9-0 run, highlighted by Owen Duff's three-pointer at 15:32, pushing Quincy ahead. The game remained tight in the final minute, with the Greyhounds tying the score at 82-82 on a
Kelvin Amoako dunk with 1:04 remaining. However, Jakeb Wallingford's free throw at the two-second mark, and a missed floater from
Elad Bakshi secured Quincy's narrow 83-82 victory.
