INDIANAPOLIS – It was senior day at Nicoson Hall for the UIndy women's basketball team as they took on Quincy in the team's regular season finale. The Greyhounds fell in a close battle against the Hawks, 75-73. 

Neither team was able to gain more than a nine point lead tonight, and included a total of 10 lead changes, while there were seven double figure scorers between both squads. 

In their final games with the UIndy women's basketball program, Amyrah Sapenter, Graycie Poe, Patricia Chikamba, and Ruby Garner all made their way into double figures. Poe led the way for UIndy with 16 points while Garner was next in line with 15 on 5-of-8 shooting.

INS & OUTS
The Greyhounds were able to jump out to a nine point lead at the half with some extremely efficient three point shooting, knocking down six triples in the first half. Poe and Garner each had two of their own, while the likes of Sapenter and Halie Gilbert connected on the two other first half threes, which was good enough to give UIndy a 39-30 lead after 20 minutes. 

After the first half where the Hawks were only able to shoot .448 from the field, they completely flipped the script in the second half, making .576 percent of their buckets in the second half and besting their first half three point total with six in the second half. Three Hawks had five points in the third quarter to cut the lead down to three entering the final 10 minutes.

The final quarter of action had six lead changes, three ties, and 12 unique point scorers between both teams. With four minutes remaining and the game tied at 65, Ruby Garner's layup and Jaelynne Murray's three pointer, it gave UIndy a 70-65 lead with 2:20 left in the game. But over the final 2:20 of action, Quincy went on a 10-3 run to complete the late comeback, seal the win and clinch its spot in the 2025-26 GLVC Tournament.

INSIDE THE BOX
- The Hounds made a season-high in free throws today, knocking down 20 from the charity stripe.
- UIndy was hot from beyond the arc the whole game, connecting on a season best 11 triples.
- 10 of Chikamba's 12 points came from the free throw line in her final game with the Greyhounds.
- Poe went a perfect 3-for-3 from three point land today.

The Greyhounds are projected to miss the GLVC Championship Tournament, and will now head into the offseason looking to replace this senior led group for the 2026-27 season.
