Box Score INDIANAPOLIS — In their second regional test of the season, the No. 17 University of Indianapolis men's tennis team blanked Walsh University 7-0.
After sweeping the doubles point for an early 1-0 lead, the Hounds found straight-set victories in all six spots throughout the lineup.
INS AND OUTS
Tadeo Gaggiofatto and Zaid Shelbaya got the ball rolling first in the doubles action, taking down Ethan Milgan and Lukas Kohler 6-2 at #2 doubles. Asier Ayllon Prado and Mathieu Derache followed suit at #1 doubles, topping Joan Dasi and Ross Trias 6-3. Lorenzo Di Cursi and Jovan Matovic completed the sweep on court #3, besting Nicolas Stroehle and Ben Hoffman 6-4.
In singles play, No. 20 Ayllon Prado extended UIndy's lead up to 2-0 after his win at #1 singles, defeating Trias 6-3, 6-0. No. 21 Gaggiofatto was next, who bested Dasi 6-3, 6-2. Derache then followed suit, taking down Stroehle 6-3, 6-2 at #3 singles.
With a 4-0 lead, Matovic kept his foot on the gas at court #4, where the freshman claimed victory over Kohler on court #4, with a 6-4, 6-2 win. Gorbatenko found his first win donning the Crimson and Grey on court #5, beating Milgan in commanding fashion 6-2, 6-1. Finally, Di Cursi wrapped up the afternoon serving a breadstick and bagel to Fedor Kuzntzov, winning 6-1, 6-2.
