Hounds Vie For GLVC Swimming & Diving Championships This Week

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Great Lakes Valley Conference is set to host the 13th annual GLVC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships, Feb. 10-14 at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville, Ind.

UIndy will be two of the 21 total teams (men's and women's) that will compete at the championships. The meet will be streamed live on the GLVC Sports Network at GLVCSN.com. The GLVCSN Android and iOS apps can also be downloaded on your mobile device, while the OTT platforms on Roku, Amazon fireTV, Android TV, and Apple TV are compatible with the GLVCSN app.

Action starts with the 800 free relay finals Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET. The standard championship meet format follows, with morning preliminaries (11 ET) and evening finals (6:30 ET) Wednesday through Saturday. In between, the diving competitions will take place at 1:30 p.m. ET every day and will include both prelims and finals with a short break in between.

This marks the third time the league's marquee event will be held at the Deaconess Aquatic Center in Evansville. The state-of-the-art venue also hosted the 2023 and 2024 GLVC Championships, with the Greyhound women winning the meet in 2023 and the UIndy men winning the '24 edition. The 2026 NCAA DII Championships will also be held at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.

"This is the fastest conference meet in DII every year," shared UIndy Head Coach Brent Noble. "There is really high-quality swimming at GLVCs; very often the national champion ends up coming from our meet. So winning our conference is a big deal. It's very difficult, but it prepares us well for Nationals."

Last February, the UIndy women took the runner-up spot at the conference meet, while the me placed third. All told, UIndy combined for 20 gold medals, nine school records and a pair of major awards—Men's Swimmer of the Year (Cedric Buessing) and Women's Diver of the Year (Alexis Lumaj).

See below for a list of individual Greyhounds that will take a No. 1 seed into the week. UIndy also owns the top seed in three relays on the women's, including the 200 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays.
