TEMPE, Ariz. – In the latest ITA National Poll publication, the UIndy men's tennis team was ranked eighteenth, it was announced Wednesday, March 18.
The Greyhounds are coming off their third ranked win of the season at the Scenic City Classic, where they took down No. 12 North Georgia. Overall, the Hounds sit at 7-4 on the season, and hold the second highest ITA ranking within the Midwest Region.
Individually, the Greyhounds had three players ranked in singles, and two doubles pairings listed within the top 50. Asier Ayllon Prado maintained his No. 7 national ranking in singles, with two ranked singles wins inside his 13-5 overall record in singles. Tadeo Gaggiofatto was listed at No. 21, also holding two ranked singles wins and a 13-5 overall record. Vladislav Gorbatenko rounds UIndy's representation in singles, holding down the No. 72 spot.
In doubles, Ayllon Prado and Mathieu Derache were named the No. 32 pair, sporting a 7-1 clip. Gaggiofatto and Zaid Shelbaya were listed at No. 43, with a 7-4 mark.
The Hounds will compete next Wednesday, March 25th, against No. 19 Tiffin at 3 PM.
