TEMPE, Ariz. – Spring Wednesday's call for the latest batch ITA National Rankings. In this week's edition, not only did the UIndy men's tennis team climb to No. 9 nationally, but five players cracked the first edition of mid-season individual rankings.
In singles play, Asier Ayllon Prado jumped up 11 spots, leaping to No. 9 nationally. The 2025 Midwest Regional Champion holds an 11-3 record, with two ranked wins this season. With an 11-4 singles mark, Tadeo Gaggiofatto sprung to No. 16 in the national singles ranks, moving up five places from the initial poll. Finally, Vladislav Gorbatenko debuted at No. 56, boasting an 8-2 clip in singles.
In doubles action, Ayllon Prado and Mathieu Derache were polled at No. 19, while Gaggiofatto and Zaid Shelbaya opened at No. 49 on the list. Derache and Ayllon Prado have an unblemished 4-0 mark at #1 doubles, with Gaggiofatto and Shelbaya sitting at 4-3.
The Greyhounds are off to a 6-3 start on the season, with ranked wins against No. 9 Azusa Pacific and No. 20 Charleston. The Hounds were last ranked inside the top-10 in the final ITA poll of the 2024-2025 season.
