INDIANAPOLIS – The top three ranked UIndy women's lacrosse team capped off its weekend with a second GLVC win at home over McKendree, 16-6.
The Greyhounds had a trio of players net a hat trick today, Malaena Michielin, Olivia Bladon and Sage Da Silva. Da Silva's first goal of the day today eclipsed her over the 100 goal mark for her career, and moved her just two away from a spot in the top-10 for career goals in program history.
Including its win today the Greyhounds have now extended its win streak at Key Stadium to 10 games dating back to last season, as well as 12 of its last 13 games at home.Â

Similar to its last time out against Maryville, the Greyhounds got off to a slow start offensively, only finding the back of the cage three times in the first 15 minutes. Margaret Galloway opened the scoring after five minutes of action, while Michielin grabbed two more early goals. Michielin added to her season total today of 37, putting her in the top-25 nationally in goals per game with 3.36.
The Greyhounds offense finally found its spark in quarter two, with Olivia Bladon adding her first two of the day to her name, along with Ella Fornek, Megan Gehrt, and Da Silva all putting their names in the box score as well.
But the story was the defensive effort from UIndy, who had 13 first half turnovers and scooped up 18 ground balls. Natalie Chapman had three caused turnovers to her name, while a staggering eight Hounds had at least two ground balls today, including three each from Gehrt and Reese Fahlke.
The second half began with five consecutive goals from UIndy, including the freshman Fahlke who found the back of the cage for the 19th time this season, while Sadie Nugent capped the scoring in the fourth quarter with her third goal of her freshman campaign. Along with seven more goals, the defensive effort remained stingy, causing eight more turnovers, and concluded the weekend with a 10 goal win over McKendree.
INSIDE THE BOX
- The Greyhounds went a perfect 22-for-22 today on clear attempts, while holding the Bearcats to only 16 successful clears on 24 attempts.
- Bladon had 13 shots today, including seven on net, which are both the most by a single player this season for UIndy.
- Alexa Versaci added three helpers to her name today, giving her a team best 21 for the season.
- Galloway had a career-best three points today on a goal and two assists.
UP NEXT
The Greyhounds will remain at home next weekend for another GLVC contest, this time playing host to William Jewell on Friday April 17 at 5 p.m. for Fac & Staff Appreciation Day. UIndy leads the all-time series between the two teams, 2-0, winning by an average of 18 goals.
