TEMPE, Ariz. – The UIndy men's tennis team jumped to fourteenth in the latest ITA National Poll, per the release Wednesday, April 15.
The Greyhounds bumped up one spot in the national ranks following an undefeated weekend in St. Louis, where they defeated Maryville and UMSL. Last week's strong showing moved their overall record to 11-4, while boosting their regional record to a perfect 8-0. UIndy also holds five ranked-wins on the season, and holster the highest ranked team in the Midwest in the latest poll publication.
Moving onto individual rankings, Asier Ayllon Prado was ranked inside the top-20 for the sixth consecutive week, cranking the list at No. 16. The sophomore's two wins last weekend helped his singles record to 20-4, while holding a pair of ranked wins. Tadeo Gaggiofatto came in at No. 42 in the latest publication, after a win last weekend. Gaggiofatto also owns two ranked wins in singles play, with an overall record of 15-5.
The Hounds will return to the 317 this weekend, with home matches against Illinois Springfield and Purdue Northwest on the docket. UIndy will play Illinois Springfield this Saturday, April 18, at 11 AM in the UIndy Tennis Center. They'll wrap the weekend against Purdue Northwest this Sunday, April 19, at 2 PM.
