INDIANAPOLIS – To wrap regular season play, the No. 49 UIndy women's tennis team swept McKendree 7-0. The Greyhounds earned their seventh regional victory in the winning effort, and improved to 9-10 on the season. 

After breezing past the Bearcats in doubles play, the Hounds had no trouble handling business in singles play, taking all six positions. 

INS AND OUTS
Sofia Cardenas and Jimena De Pablos Hernando got UIndy started in doubles play, serving a bagel to Emmy Zsigmond and Diana Calzada on court #3, with a 6-0 win. The Hounds found another result from Magda Kornijczuk and Silvia Zappoli at #1 doubles, where the duo downed Kiera and Lena Greefs 6-3. The hounds concluded doubles action after Liza Simak and Maelys Thiery-James topped Ivana Milkova and Kristina Bogomazova 6-3 on court #2. 

Cardenas came out of the gate early in singles action, dishing a double-bagel to Paisley Struewing at #6 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Zappoli echoed that result at #5 singles, blanking Zsigmond 6-0, 6-0, on court #5. 

UIndy gained a 4-0 lead after De Pablos Hernando finished Bogomazova 6-2, 6-4 on court #2. Thiery James then turned in a 6-3, 6-4 victory at #1 singles, pulling ahead of Lena Greefs. 

Kornijczuk was next to finish for the Hounds, overpowering Milkova 6-2, 7-6 at #3 singles. Simak brought out the brooms for UIndy, outlasting Kiera Greefs 6-2, 2-6, 6-0 on court #4.

The Hounds will await the GLVC Championship Tournament draw next weekend, where they will compete next Friday, May 1, at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, IN.
