INDIANAPOLIS – The No. 13 UIndy men's tennis team is set to defend their title at the GLVC Championship Tournament at Center Grove High School in Greenwood, IN. 

Last year, the Greyhounds swept Rockhurst 4-0 en route to their third consecutive GLVC Championship. 

The field will host the top-three teams based on highest divisional winning percentage from each of the GLVC's two divisions. It is a single-elimination format with a Championship match conducted on Sunday.  After clinching their twelfth-straight East Division regular season title, UIndy comes into the tournament as the #1 Seed in the East. 

The Hounds have been dominant all spring, and enter this tournament on an eight match win streak.They're currently sitting at 14-4, and hold five ranked-wins over top-20 opponents. 

UIndy was voted the No. 1 in the Midwest Region in the final release by the NCAA, putting the Hounds in great position to host. They boast an unblemished 11-0 record against regional opponents. 

Depth across the lineup has been key all season, with seven players with 10+ singles wins across dual and tournament play. Leading the group is the reigning ITA Midwest Regional Champion, Asier Ayllon Prado, who holds a 22-5 record in singles play, and an 18-4 mark in doubles. Tadeo Gaggiofatto, the ITA Regional runner-up, sits at 18-5 in singles competition, and a 14-5 clip in doubles play. 

Mathieu Derache commands the group with his leadership as a four-year player within the program. Not only does his leadership guide the group, but his 14-4 mark in singles alludes to his talent derived from his tenure donning the Crimson and Grey. 

The Hounds will play at 10 AM this Saturday, May 2, as the #1 seed in the tournament semifinal. They will face the winner of Rockhurst and McKendree.
