INDIANAPOLIS – The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) announced Thursday that Indianapolis sophomore
Asier Ayllon Prado has been named the GLVC Player of the Year in the sport of men's tennis. Joining Ayllon Prado on the All-GLVC First-Team were
Tadeo Gaggiofatto and
Mathieu Derache.
Ayllon Prado has competed at a high level all season, beginning in the fall with a ITA Midwest Regional title. He holds a 22-5 overall record in singles competition, with an 18-4 mark in doubles play. This is his second All-GLVC major award, as he was named Freshman of the Year last season. Gaggiofatto, the 2025 ITA Regional runner-up, enters the First Team with an 18-5 mark in singles competition, and a 14-5 clip in doubles play. Both him and Ayllon Prado own a pair of ranked-wins in singles competition on the season. Derache collects his second All-GLVC First Team honor with a 14-4 mark in singles competition, and a 13-4 record in doubles.
The league also recognized Quincy as its GLVC Men's Tennis James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award team recipient, as well as 11 student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior.
Mathieu Derache earned this recognition for UIndy for the second consecutive season. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. The honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced in May.
