Dr. Nick Soltis Announced As New Faculty Athletics Representative

INDIANAPOLIS – The University of Indianapolis is pleased to announce Dr. Nick Soltis as its next Faculty Athletics Representative (FAR). Dr. Soltis takes over the important role of bridging between academics and athletics, helping ensure that Greyhound student-athletes are supported not only in competition, but also in the classroom and throughout their overall collegiate experience.
 
An Assistant Professor in Physics & Earth Space Science at UIndy, Dr. Soltis will assume the role of FAR, promoting academic integrity, student well-being, and strong collaboration between faculty, athletics staff, and university leadership.
 
A native of Harmony, Pa., Dr. Soltis attended Muskingum University for his undergraduate degree in middle childhood education. He worked as a middle school science and math teacher for six years at Garaway Local School District in Sugarcreek, Ohio. While teaching, he earned a master's degree in science education and Talented & Gifted Education at Muskingum University and a master's degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Earth System Science from Auburn University in May 2020 and started as an assistant professor at UIndy in the fall of that year. He was promoted to associate professor with tenure effecive in September 2026.
