INDIANAPOLIS - The UIndy men's soccer team extended their home win streak to three with their 2-0 win over the University of Missouri-St. Louis.

After the first five minutes of the match the game was delayed for around 90 minutes before the UIndy offense returned electrified when they returned to the field in the first half. Specifically, Joey Longo started it off with an early shot right in front of the goal which missed. But, as he has through his UIndy career, he soon found the back of the net. 

His goal in the 21st minute was assisted by Alejandro Zuniga, the second straight game Zuniga has assisted a Longo goal, extending Longo's goal scoring streak to four straight games. With the four game streak Longo became the only player in the GLVC this season to score a goal in each conference game and the leading scorer with four goals in GLVC play.

After the Longo goal, Zuniga looked for one of his own with two shots in the 32nd minute, including one on goal. 

The Tritons looked to respond with a shot on goal of their own which was handled by Rick Lammerts before Hugo Paturel found the last strike on goal of the first half which was stopped, leaving the score at 1-0 entering the second half.

Similar to the last home matchup, the Greyhounds found an early goal in the second half off of a Zuniga assist. 

This time it was Shayne Abrams scoring, picking up his second goal over the last two games. Abrams again showed off his lightning fast speed, racing towards goal before chipping it over the opposing keeper.

The game then shifted to a more even back and forth with multiple substitutes coming in for each team with neither team finding too many promising opportunities.

Ultimately UIndy led the way in most offensive categories with 13 shots and five on goals whereas, UMSL led in corners with seven.

The Greyhounds return to action Saturday, Sept. 19 as they take on No. 18 Drury on the road at 12:30 p.m.
