INDIANAPOLIS –  The University of Indianapolis volleyball program will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month this weekend with its annual Dig Pink match. The Greyhounds will welcome the Maryville Saints to the Ruth Lilly Fitness Center this Friday, Oct. 2. The GLVC match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET and will feature a number of ways for fans to support breast cancer research.

All ticket proceeds will be donated directly to the Side-Out Foundation and its Dig Pink initiative. Fans are also asked to consider donating directly to the cause and help the Greyhounds reach their goal of raising $1,000. Other activities on the docket include a silent auction, as well as the opportunity to sign encouragement cards and make a scarf. Ahead of the match, the team will visit patients and drop off gift baskets at the Community MD Anderson Cancer Center - South on Thursday, Oct. 1.

"This match is bigger than the game of volleyball," said UIndy head coach Haley Case. "It is about standing strong for those fighting cancer, honoring those we have lost, and reminding everyone that awareness saves lives. Cancer may be strong, but may our hope and commitment to finding a cure be stronger."
