WHEELING, W.Va.— It was a successful homecoming for UIndy head coach Haley Case as she coached the Hounds to a perfect weekend in her return to Wheeling for her alma mater's Hall of Fame- Alumni Tournament.  

UIndy swept Saturday's opponents, Point Park and Wheeling, to move to 8-0 and extend their win streak to 23 straight sets. 

Case and Graduate Assistant Riley Kindall, were two of five former Cardinals who returned to Wheeling as coaches in the Hall of Fame- Alumni Tournament. Case and Wheeling's 2015 National Championship team were inducted into the Wheeling Athletics Hall of Fame.

UIndy 3, Point Park 0
In the match against Point Park, the Greyhounds dominated with set scores of 25-8, 25-15, and 25-11. UIndy hit an impressive .400 for the match, jumping ahead early with nine consecutive service points in the first set to lead 11-3. Despite an initial lead from Point Park, the Greyhounds quickly recovered, with Carly Fonda serving through a nine-point run that included kills from Makenzie Pflederer and Allison Jansen. The Greyhounds continued to build their lead with a variety of scoring plays, including aces and timely kills, closing the first set decisively at 25-8.

The second set saw a closer battle early on, tied at 7-7 before UIndy gained momentum with an Amaree Haralson service ace. The Greyhounds extended their lead to 20-10, with contributions from kills by Laine and McKenney, ultimately closing the set 25-15. The final set followed a similar pattern; after an early tie at 3-3, UIndy surged ahead with strong offensive plays to finish the set and match with a score of 25-11.

UIndy 3, Wheeling 0
In their following match against Wheeling, UIndy secured another 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-20, 25-14, and 25-17. The Greyhounds showcased their offensive prowess with 55 total kills and a .350 hitting percentage, compared to Wheeling's 29 kills at .108. 

UIndy started the first set strong with consecutive kills from Maddie Lynch and a block from Allison Jansen and Lynch, leading 3-0. After a brief setback, the Greyhounds responded with a six-point run featuring efforts from Pflederer and Jansen, taking a 16-12 lead. Despite a late push from Wheeling, UIndy held firm and finished the set 25-20.

The second set was marked by UIndy's control, pulling ahead with a series of kills and a strong serving run from Macy Bruton that propelled the team to a 19-8 lead. They closed out the set 25-14, continuing their commanding performance.

In the third set, after an initial tie, the Greyhounds built a lead through a combination of kills and blocks, reaching 20-11 before sealing the match with a final score of 25-17.

INSIDE THE BOX
-The Hounds had a three-way tie for game-high kills against Wheeling with Jansen, Lynch and Pflederer at 16 kills each. 
-UIndy earned its first win over Wheeling since 2005, snapping a six-game losing streak against the Cardinals. 
-The Hounds' 8-0 start is the program's best start since 2009, where UIndy opened the season with a 14-game win streak and made a run to the Elite Eight.
